Tsvetomira Borisova is the recipient of the 2024 BAZA Award for young contemporary artists in Bulgaria.
The Perspirationalists works with the topic of heat and sweat, elevating it from banal small talk to an inspiration for composing a manifesto. The work's characters transcend corporeality and willingly surrender to the urban heat, studying it regardless of the physical discomfort it brings. Sweating is not regarded as a shameful or disgust-inducing phenomenon but a process vital to our existence in the increasingly frequent heats. The Perspirationalists rediscover the qualities of the natural, crystalline fluid that cools our bodies and, through special devices and vessels, proudly preserve it as trophies, pure proof of the innate endurance we are capable of.
